Two things to remember with your weight at set-up.
Most of your weight is in the balls (or front) of your feet, not in the heels, check yours next time you play.
Your posture is a basic ‘ready to go’ position for nearly any sport.
Imagine you were receiving a shot in tennis, but using a golf club instead of a tennis racquet, if you lower your clubhead to the ground you are in a good posture position for golf.
Try this next time you are practising, simulate a good reveiving position in tennis with your weight forward to help you consistently set up well.
Your weight is centred between your stance evenly.
This allows your weight to move back to the back foot on the backswing and then through onto your front foot to follow through. As your ball position moves forward with your longer clubs don’t be tempted to follow the ball with your weight and lean onto the front foot, keep the weight centred to help promote a good weight transfer.
Bonus Tip:
When chipping and pitching your weight will favour your front foot, this encourages you to hit down to the bottom of the ball which will lift it for you.
