Your Ball Position is different for each club…But not that much
Drive Ball Position is in line with the inside of your left heel, this helps sweep the ball up and away which is suited to the driver swing.
Fairway woods: about half an inch closer to the middle than the driver as you are still sweeping with this club.
Iron Ball Position: This varies. The 4 iron (the most common longest iron most people carry) is played about two inches left of centre as seen in the picture and and all the other irons are placed progressively back until you hit the 9 iron which is positioned in the centre of the stance.
With an iron you are ideally hitting down onto the back of the ball so having it more centred suits this type of shot.
The 9 Iron is centred and the 4 iron is forward and all the irons grauduate in between the two. The Woods are placed more forward again until the Driver which is placed in line with the inside of the front heel
Bonus Tip:
Your wedge should never be played any further back than middle of your feet.
For putting the ball should be just left of centre of the stance, this allows your shoulders to stay square at set up which is really important for a good stroke.
Good Golfing
