You should always leave the pin in when chipping or putting from just off the green?
Research has been done by Dave Pelz in the US.

Dave is a short game guru you may have heard of and very analytical, he tests and measures everything to take the guess work out of golf.
He has tested to see which works most often…leaving the flag in or out when pitching or putting from off the green.

Overwhelmingly the results suggested that if you leave the pin in you are more likely to hole the chip than if you don’t.
