How to handle distractions on the course
Does this sound like you?
You are playing along fairly nicely and it starts to rain….
You hate the rain, everything gets wet, you get flustered and try to get all your wet weather gear out without getting your glove wet.
You hit a bad shot and start to get frustrated and your game goes south very quickly until you end up turning a potentially nice round into a disaster
OR….You are playing fairly well when play starts to get slow and you are waiting on every shot
You hate slow play, it drives you insane, you start to get frustrated and your game goes south…..
OR….You are playing fairly well but the lady you are playing with loves a chat, you can even overhear her talking to the other ladies as you try and play your shot.
You hate people that talk while you play, you don’t want to be rude so you say nothing but you start getting frustrated and your game
goes south….
I am sure you are getting the picture by now, there are loads of distractions when you play golf, being a good golfer involves an extra skill, not letting these things bother you, tune it out and keep concentrating, less excuses means more good scores.
You can even turn it around to work in your favour by playing little mental games with yourself.
You can say to yourself the more I am distracted the more I am going to concentrate and hit a great shot.
Good Golfing
