- How to grip your putter?
- Did you know there are two grips in golf ?
- One for putting and one for everything else.
- Do you grip it differently for putting?
Here’s how to grip your putter like the pro’s.
Start off with a 10 finger (baseball) grip with no overlapping or interlocking of the little fingers.
Then just bring the top hands forefinger out and sit it down the outside of the fingers of the bottom hand, as above.
The putter should sit vertically down the palm of your hand and not in the fingers like the normal grip for your swing.
The grip pictured above is the standard ‘reverse overlapping grip’ used by 95% of golf pros.
The left forefinger goes down the outside of the fingers to restrict your ability to break your wrists.
This is the main benefit of this grip to keep you firm down the front side of the grip and stop your wrists working during the stroke.
Check your grip in the mirror and, and if you don’t already use it, give this one a try, it might help, particularly with the shorter ones.
Good Golfing
