Have you heard this one before???
Most people look puzzled when they first hear this saying in golf, but all it means is that when you have a breaking putt you are still aiming to hit a straight putt but to a point to the left or right of the hole to allow for the slope, so its still a straight putt but not directly at the hole.
I like this concept because it simplifies the idea of how to tackle breaking putts and asks you to work out how much break to allow before putting and then just aim to hit a straight putt at the spot to the left or right of the hole.
